Southwell:  Norman Minster, The Workhouse (NT), All-weather Racecourse, Saturday Market.

Laxton:  National Holocaust Centre & Museum, Medieval Strip-Farming System

North Clifton:  Pureland Meditation Centre.

Farnsfield:  White Post Modern Farm Centre, Wheelgate Theme Park. Visit Newstead Abbey, historic home of Lord Byron, or the D.H. Lawrence Museum & Heritage Centre at Eastwood, join Ezekiel Bone’s Robin Hood Town Tour, or take the Mayflower Pilgrim Trail. Walking, cycling and horse riding are popular pursuits. There are footpaths and a bridle path on the farm. Cycles can be hired at Clumber Park, Sherwood Pines and Rutland Water and there are several local riding stables where lessons and rides can be booked. Walk in Sherwood Forest to see the Major Oak or “Go Ape” at Sherwood Pines.

In addition our rural location, with access to a good road network, allows for a longer day out exploring further afield, for example, York Minster and The Shambles, Lincoln Cathedral, Chatsworth House, Hardwick Hall (NT) and Alton Towers.
